After winning a GRAMMY® with Alma, Corazón y SalsaTony Succar and Mimy Succar return with a bold and seductive new proposal: “La Brujería”, an explosive cumbia that marks Armonía 10’sinternational debut under the guidance of two of the most dynamic figures in today’s tropical music scene.

“La Brujería” is no ordinary collaboration. It’s a vocal performance in which Mimy delivers playful warnings while Armonía 10 answers without remorse, caught in a spell that blends joy and resignation. It’s a dialogue in cumbia form, with sharp lyrics, an infectious rhythm, and an energy that makes it impossible to stay still.

From his studio in Miami, Tony envisioned a track where his mother, the formidable Mimy Succar, becomes a bold and mischievous narrator, while Armonía 10, the legendary Peruvian orchestra with over five decades of history and an almost academic status in the world of cumbi,a dives in with flair and precision.

From the very first beat, the track ignites with dancefloor flavor. It’s pure cumbia: danceable, vibrant, and full of the essence Tony calls “delicious folklore.” The production, led by Tony himself, bears his signature style: exquisite orchestration, refined aesthetics, and that unmistakable touch of salsa that naturally flows through everything he creates.

“I wanted to infuse Peruvian cumbia with the flavor of Latin American folklore by adding Colombian elements like the accordion and the caja vallenata,” Tony explains. “To dress it in elegance without losing the street joy that makes it unique.”

Founded in 1972, Armonía 10 has long been a pillar of Peruvian cumbia. In 2022, they were named Meritorious Cultural Personality, and in Peru, they’re often mentioned in the same breath as Grupo 5Agua Marina, and Corazón Serrano, key pillars of the genre.

“La Brujería” marks a new chapter for Armonía 10, now stepping onto the international stage under the artistic direction of Tony Succar, who masterfully bridges generations while honoring the genre’s roots.

“This song has the soul of the streets and the heart of a party,” says Tony. “We wanted to capture that moment when a friend tells you you’re caught up in something strange that the person you’re with isn’t right for you, but you’re just too happy to care.”

“La Brujería” is now available on all streaming platforms.
