Manuel Turizo joined one of the most emblematic events in the Spanish capital this weekend: the Madrid LGBTQ+ Pride Parade, which gathered around one million people in the city center, according to organizers.
From his impressive “201” float—named after his current world tour—the Colombian artist paraded through the streets of Madrid, showing his support for the LGBTQ+ community and his strong commitment to the values of inclusion, respect, and freedom. In front of thousands of attendees, Turizo performed several of his biggest hits live, making his participation one of the most celebrated moments of the day.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Qroud Agency, the organization connected to Madrid Pride and specialized in diversity and strategy for artists and the music industry, with the support of COGAM, FELGBT, and AEGAL.
Oriol Pàmies, also the founder of Queer Destinations, took part in the event. Queer Destinations is an international diversity certification that works with governments and destinations in more than 15 countries. The LGBTQ+ segment represents more than $4.7 trillion USD per year, and according to Credit Suisse, it would be the 4th largest economy in the world if it were a country.
The Madrid Pride Parade is one of the most important in the world, not only because of its scale, but also because of its symbolism. Year after year, it has become a space for visibility, celebration, and the fight for human rights and equality. The event also generates an estimated €560 million in economic impact for the capital.
The participation of international artists like Manuel Turizo reinforces the message of unity and empathy that defines this celebration, especially during a year in which Spain commemorates the 20th anniversary of the legalization of same-sex marriage.
“At a time when LGBTQ+ rights and DEI policies are facing setbacks, it is important for companies to position themselves on the right side of history, and I applaud the music industry for joining this movement,” said Oriol Pàmies, founder of Qroud Agency and part of the Madrid Pride organization.
With his energy and charisma, Turizo lit up the event, marking a new chapter in his “201 World Tour.”
