The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF) has officially announced the host and featured appearances for the 12th Anniversary LA MUSA AWARDS, set to take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Flamingo Theater in Miami. The prestigious gala will once again shine a spotlight on the legends and innovators who have defined Latin music through the art of songwriting.
Jason Canela to Host the 2025 La Musa Awards
Cuban-American actor and singer Jason Canela will serve as host for this year’s celebration. Known for his charisma, authenticity, and deep ties to Latin culture, Canela promises to bring a dynamic energy to the stage as he leads the evening’s tributes, performances, and award presentations.
Special Appearances: MŌRIAH and Luis Enrique
The gala will feature a special appearance by MŌRIAH, the acclaimed Mexican-American artist recognized for her powerful voice and creative storytelling. She will take part in a presentation celebrating the cultural legacy and global influence of Latin music through the decades.
Also joining the night’s festivities is Luis Enrique, the Nicaraguan singer-songwriter and multiple Latin GRAMMY® Award winner, famously known as El Príncipe de la Salsa. He will be part of a special segment honoring the role of songwriting in shaping Latin identity and culture worldwide.
Honoring José Alfredo Jiménez – “El Rey” Recognized as The Song of All Time
A highlight of the evening will be a moving tribute to legendary Mexican songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez, whose timeless classic “El Rey” will be celebrated as The Song of All Time for its unparalleled cultural influence and lasting global success. His son, José Alfredo Jiménez Medel, will accept his father’s posthumous induction into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, honoring a legacy that continues to inspire generations of artists.

- Lalo Schifrin (Argentina, posthumous): Iconic composer and conductor best known for the Mission: Impossible theme.
- Mónica Vélez (Mexico): Award-winning songwriter whose catalog has surpassed 4.6 billion streams worldwide.
