The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) has announced that Gloria Trevi, one of the most influential Latin female artists of all time, will receive the prestigious 2025 Hispanic Heritage Legend Award. The ceremony will take place on September 4, 2025, at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C., with a national broadcast later on PBS.
Trevi joins an elite list of honorees, including Cheech Marin, Felix Contreras, Julissa Prado, and Rauw Alejandro, in what promises to be a historic evening celebrating Latino excellence in music, culture, and leadership.
“Gloria Trevi is not just a musical icon; she is a cultural force whose voice has resonated across generations and borders,” said Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of the HHF. “Her fearless artistry, record-breaking tours, and unwavering advocacy embody the spirit of this recognition.”
Trevi herself responded with gratitude and humility:
“This honor, more than praising me, belongs to the audience who for many years have made my music part of their lives. At my concerts, generations come together as one voice—and this award is for them. It represents the heart of every Latino who puts passion into everything we do.”
Dubbed by Rolling Stone as the “Queen of Mexican Pop,” Trevi has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and surpassed 7 billion streams across platforms. She is a Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, a multi-GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® winner, and one of the most powerful female performers in Latin music history.
Her influence extends far beyond music. In 2023, she topped Latin American charts with singles like “Medusa” and “Inocente” under her own independent label. Her bioseries Ellas Soy Yo became the most streamed original series on ViX, garnering 6.3 million viewers during its premiere in Mexico and inspiring a three-volume compilation album Mi Soundtrack.
In 2024, Trevi embarked on her acclaimed “Mi Soundtrack World Tour,” delivering sold-out shows across the U.S., Latin America, and Spain. She now holds the record as the Hispanic-American female artist with the highest number of sold-out performances at both Arena CDMX (13) and Auditorio Nacional (46), while being recognized by Pollstar among the world’s top-grossing female touring artists, alongside Madonna and Karol G.
Entering 2025, Trevi continues to push creative boundaries. She released “Q.E.P.D.” in February, a powerful anthem about self-worth, followed by her full-length album “La Vuelo.” Praised by Billboard for its versatility, the project demonstrates her ability to reinvent herself while staying true to her pop essence.
In addition to her artistic achievements, Trevi is a tireless advocate for women, the LGBTQ+ community, and underprivileged children through her Ana Dalai Foundation. She has provided relief during natural disasters and worked to uplift families facing economic hardship across Mexico and the United States.
Gloria Trevi’s recognition at the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Awards cements her place not only as a Latin music legend, but as a cultural trailblazer whose influence spans music, media, and social advocacy.
