Santiago Cruz doesn’t sing to idealize life—he sings to reveal it, with all its rawness and beauty. Today, he releases “Todos Tenemos Cicatrices”, an original single that expands the emotional and sonic landscape of Quince de Caminos, his ambitious commemorative project paying tribute to Cruce de Caminos, one of the most iconic albums in Colombian pop history.

Clocking in at 3 minutes and 40 seconds, the song is a powerful declaration of identity. Its mid-tempo pop/rock rhythm, built on intense guitars and an unrelenting chorus, marks a deliberate return to Cruz’s more electric performance energy, while exploring one of life’s most uncomfortable yet universal truths: we all carry some kind of fracture, scar, or memory that changed us.

The inspiration behind the track is as tangible as it is symbolic. During his recent #UnTourAcústicoDeVerdad across the United States, one of Cruz’s guitars was destroyed by an airline. Upon returning to Colombia, he took it to a luthier in hopes of repair. The craftsman warned him: the guitar could be fixed, but it would bear scars. Cruz responded instantly, “Well, after all, we all have scars.” That phrase became the seed for the song—an emotional manifesto about embracing ourselves and others, even when the wounds remain visible.

This new single connects seamlessly with the narrative arc of Quince de CaminosCruz has been clear that the project isn’t a nostalgic revisitation of his catalog, but an emotional rereading that prioritizes maturity, introspection, and creative vulnerability. “Todos Tenemos Cicatrices” is proof of that intent.

Todos Tenemos Cicatrices” is one of two original songs featured on Quince de Caminos, a project that commemorates 15 years of an album that redefined Cruz’s career and opened a critical chapter in Colombian pop. Beyond the milestone, this new single is a stripped-down invitation to see ourselves as fragile and still whole. It’s as if Cruz is saying: there is no beauty more real than the kind that doesn’t try to hide its cracks.

The release also builds momentum for Quince de Caminos La Gira, a U.S. tour kicking off this August with stops in key cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, and Washington. It’s expected to be an intimate, visceral, and musically bold experience, with a top-tier band and a setlist that spans beloved classics and these newly unearthed emotional layers.
