ROA is entering the biggest stretch of his career with one of his most significant collaborations yet. The Puerto Rican rising star joins forces with Anuel AA on “VAMO A VEL,” connecting two generations of Puerto Rican urbano just weeks before ROA begins his first U.S. headlining tour.

Built around attraction, desire and a relationship that refuses to stay entirely casual, “VAMO A VEL” finds ROA and Anuel trading verses about an intense connection that begins without expectations but gradually hints at something deeper. The record places ROA alongside one of the most internationally recognized figures to emerge from Puerto Rico’s reggaeton and Latin trap movement, giving the collaboration added weight at a pivotal moment in his own rise.

The pairing did not arrive without warning. Speculation surrounding ROA and Anuel had been building since ROA’s Spain Tour, when he joined Anuel onstage at Puro Latino Fest to perform their collaboration “Netflix & Chill.” Subsequent appearances together kept the conversation moving before a cryptic campaign brought the rollout back home to Puerto Rico: billboards featuring wolf and devil emojis began appearing around the island, inviting fans to connect the symbols with the two artists before “VAMO A VEL” was officially revealed.

The strategy is notable because it treats the collaboration as more than another feature. Instead of relying exclusively on the recognition attached to Anuel’s name, the campaign created a narrative around the record before release, using live appearances, social speculation and physical advertising to build anticipation. For an artist transitioning into larger markets, that type of rollout signals an effort to turn growing awareness into a recognizable identity.

That transition becomes even clearer when “VAMO A VEL” is viewed alongside ROA’s upcoming USA Tour 2026.

Beginning October 8 in Miami, the 19-city run will take ROA through Chicago, Providence, Boston, Orlando, New York, Houston, Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, Columbus, Minnesota, San Francisco, Fresno, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Jersey and Pennsylvania before closing December 13 in Reading. The tour follows international runs through Latin America and Spain and represents ROA’s first opportunity to test his growing audience across the United States as a headliner.

For ROA, that distinction matters. Streaming attention can establish an emerging artist quickly, but converting that attention into ticket demand across multiple U.S. markets represents a different stage of development. Rather than concentrating the tour exclusively around traditional Latin music strongholds such as Miami, New York and Orlando, the routing reaches markets including Providence, Columbus, Charlotte and Minnesota — an indication that ROA’s team is testing how widely that audience can translate geographically.

The tour will also bring the world surrounding his RIAA-certified project Private Suite into a larger live setting. Songs including “ETA RMX,” “Me Gustas CC,” “Fantasía,” “Tate Quieta,” “ETA,” “UuU” and “Pieza Exhibición” are expected to anchor a catalog that has helped establish ROA within the increasingly competitive new generation of Puerto Rican urbano.

According to information released by his team, ROA has surpassed 3 billion global streams and six million followers across social platforms. Those numbers provide scale to his digital rise, but the next phase of his career will increasingly be measured by what happens beyond streaming: sustained touring demand, larger collaborations, catalog growth and his ability to maintain momentum across markets.

That is what makes the timing of Anuel AA’s appearance especially important.

Puerto Rican urbano has historically used collaborations as a mechanism for artists to move between generations and audiences. On “VAMO A VEL,” ROA is no longer simply appearing alongside another emerging name. He is sharing a record with an artist whose career was central to Latin trap’s international expansion, creating a bridge between an established era of Puerto Rican urbano and one of the artists currently attempting to define its next wave.

At the same time, ROA’s trajectory is increasingly being built through more than individual releases. International touring, headline dates, carefully staged collaborations and a recognizable visual identity are beginning to operate as parts of the same strategy. That represents an important shift from discovery to infrastructure: the challenge is no longer simply getting listeners to recognize ROA, but building enough of an ecosystem around his music for those listeners to follow him from streaming platforms to venues.

“VAMO A VEL” arrives directly in the middle of that transformation.

With his U.S. tour beginning October 8, the coming months will provide the clearest indication yet of how far ROA’s momentum can travel. The collaboration with Anuel AA gives him another high-profile record entering that run, but the larger story will be what happens once ROA steps onto those stages as the name at the top of the bill.
