A Triumphant Return to El Coliseo de Puerto Rico
Fresh off the release, Jay Wheeler recently brought his album Girasoles to life with two monumental, sold-out shows at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, bringing his total to eight sold-out performances at the iconic venue, a record that cements his place among the island’s most beloved artists.
For over three hours, Wheeler performed more than 40 songs, spanning his career from the soul-bearing hits of Girasoles to fan favorites that shaped his artistic evolution. The stage design was equally breathtaking: a 130-foot semicircular LED screen, a 53-foot sunflower-shaped centerpiece, and a rotating stage, the only one of its kind in Puerto Rico. Several moments featured a 20-piece symphonic ensemble of students from the Escuela Libre de Músicaand the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, creating a moving fusion of generations and sounds.
Among the night’s most celebrated highlights were special guest appearances by Tommy Torres and Arcángel, two artists who, like Wheeler, continue to push Latin music forward through emotion and authenticity.
