Carlos Rivera, one of the most renowned and influential Mexican singers of his generation, returns with a powerful new single titled “ALGUIEN.” This emotional ballad of heartbreak pays tribute to the deep roots of Mexican music and proudly celebrates national traditions.

Just as he did in 2024 with “Calavera,” Rivera once again reconnects with the essence of Mexican culture. With “ALGUIEN,” he exalts the pride of being Mexican through mariachi-driven chords and melodic nuances that have become a hallmark of his sound.

Written alongside Luis Mejía and Iván Gámez, the lyrics intertwine tragedy, fiction, and reality to tell the story of unrequited love. Rivera captures the intensity of heartbreak with striking verses:

“And someone is suffering today because of her, someone is dying of pain and madness, someone is wondering if there’s a cure for this, and that someone is me, in case you had any doubt.”

The music video for “ALGUIEN” was filmed in Xochimilco, Mexico City, and in Huamantla, Rivera’s hometown. Directed by Yerick Johnsson, the creative mind behind “Calavera” the clip highlights the beauty of Mexican traditions while narrating a tale of love and loss.

The video stars Priscila Valverde, a Mexican top model and contestant on La Casa de los Famosos México, who brings intensity and elegance to the story.

Produced by Rivera himself, along with Humberto Rodríguez Terrazas “Humbe” and Emiliano Rodríguez Terrazas“ALGUIEN” blends cultural identity with universal emotions.

This single also marks the beginning of Rivera’s upcoming musical project: a series of releases dedicated to celebrating the richness and pride of Mexican music.

More than just a heartbreak anthem, “ALGUIEN” stands as a reminder of the value of Mexico’s musical heritage and how an international artist like Carlos Rivera continues to elevate traditional sounds on the global stage.
