Damian, the Barranquilla-born singer-songwriter known for crafting honest, emotionally rich music rooted in Caribbean sounds, unveils the salsa version of “Muchas Gracias, Papá”—a production that marks a new chapter in his artistic evolution.

Originally released in 2021 as an intimate pop ballad, the track now returns with renewed life: layered with bold trombones and Afro-Latin percussion, while preserving the tenderness and intention that inspired its creation.

Written, arranged, and produced by Damian himself, this new version showcases his ability to evolve without compromising the song’s soul. Its distinctive sound is brought to life by a team of exceptional musicians, further solidifying Damian’s artistic vision and musical versatility.

I’m truly happy and proud of the result. I think we were able to take this very special song to another level. My hope is that when people hear it, they’ll remember the good in their fathers and feel moved to dedicate it to them,” says the artist.

The video was produced and edited in Miami by Shoot With Diego, under the sensitive direction of Diego Aponte.

Muchas Gracias, Papá (Salsa Version)” follows Damian’s recent release “Sanar”, a spiritually charged track that positioned him as a purpose-driven artist. It also builds on the rhythmic exploration he began with his album El Tropical Feeling – Vallenato & Cumbia Edition, where he demonstrated a gift for bridging the traditional and the contemporary.

This new version of “Muchas Gracias, Papá” is music meant to honor, to thank, to embrace—from afar or from memory. At a time when the music industry is searching for authentic voices and meaningful stories, this release feels not only relevant but essential.

With a career that includes collaborations with icons like Carlos VivesGilberto SantaRosa, and Fanny LuDamian continues to chart a solid path in Latin music—choosing substance over trend, and expression over formula.

“Muchas Gracias, Papá (Salsa Version)” is now available on all digital music platforms.
