FloyyMenor is bringing the focus back to Chile with Off The Planet, a three-track EP that reconnects the global reggaeton breakout with the street culture, nightlife and musical identity that helped shape his rise. Featuring “Off The Planet,” “Flaite Elegante” and “VÉNGATE” alongside Midnvght, the project was recorded entirely in Chile. Rather than pursuing a larger international crossover sound, FloyyMenor leans into the local influences that distinguish his approach to Latin urban music. The release arrives at an important point in his career. Following the international success of “GATA ONLY,” FloyyMenor faces a challenge familiar to breakthrough artists: maintaining the identity that attracted audiences while building a sustainable career beyond a defining hit. Off The Planet offers one answer. Instead of distancing himself from his origins, the Chilean artist places them at the center of his next chapter. At the heart of the EP is “Flaite Elegante,” a track whose title captures a cultural contradiction deeply rooted in Chilean urban life. The word flaite carries associations with street identity and working-class youth culture, while elegantesuggests sophistication, luxury and success. Together, the phrase represents someone who has achieved a different lifestyle without abandoning the environment that shaped them. For FloyyMenor, that tension reflects his own trajectory. His music has reached audiences far beyond Chile, but the slang, attitude and rhythmic sensibilities of his home country remain central to his artistic identity. The EP’s title track, “Off The Planet,” explores nightlife and independence through the story of a woman who has moved beyond romantic expectations. Its carefree atmosphere establishes the project’s emphasis on freedom, attraction and living in the moment. “VÉNGATE,” featuring Midnvght, closes the release with a perreo-driven approach to heartbreak. Rather than dwelling on a failed relationship, the track transforms emotional disappointment into an invitation to dance and move forward. Although the three songs share a nightlife-centered perspective, “Flaite Elegante” provides the clearest statement about FloyyMenor’s evolving identity. That distinction matters in a Latin urban landscape where regional sounds increasingly travel beyond their original markets. Chilean reggaeton has developed recognizable characteristics through its local vocabulary, production choices and youth culture. FloyyMenor’s international visibility gives those influences a larger platform without requiring him to abandon their origins. His breakthrough with “GATA ONLY” demonstrated the international potential of Chilean urban music. According to release information, the song became the first Chilean-led track to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams in 780 days. The release also credits FloyyMenor with more than 8.8 billion career streams worldwide, while highlighting recognition on Billboard’s 2026 21 Under 21 list and a Premios Juventud nomination. Those achievements provide context for the strategy behind Off The Planet. After a major crossover success, an artist can attempt to reproduce the same formula or use the increased attention to establish a broader creative identity. FloyyMenor appears to be choosing the latter, at least with this release. By recording in Chile and foregrounding local expressions, he is presenting his cultural background as an asset rather than something to dilute for international consumption. The project’s compact three-song format also keeps that statement focused. Rather than introducing a lengthy collection of competing sounds, Off The Planet concentrates on the attitude, themes and musical environment associated with his established identity. The next phase of his career will continue on major live stages. FloyyMenor is scheduled to perform at iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina at Miami’s Kaseya Center on October 17, followed by activities surrounding Billboard Latin Music Week. He is also scheduled to appear at Coca-Cola Flow Fest in Mexico City on November 29. These performances will place him before audiences in two significant Latin music markets, extending the visibility created by his recorded releases. With Off The Planet, FloyyMenor is not presenting a complete reinvention. Instead, the EP suggests a consolidation of the identity that brought him international recognition, now framed by the experience of global success. For an artist whose breakthrough helped introduce Chilean reggaeton to a wider audience, that may be the project’s most important message: international reach does not have to come at the expense of local identity.
