“MORE THAN AN ALBUM, IT’S A MOOD” RELS B KICKS OFF THE SUMMER WITH “afroLOVA 25’”
Two years after releasing afroLOVA 23’, the project that solidified his place in the music scene in 2023, Rels B is back with afroLOVA 25’.
This second installment continues the legacy of the afroLOVA universe, which, as Rels B himself has put it, “is not just an album, it’s a mood.”
afroLOVA 25’ features nine tracks rooted in afrobeat and Latin rhythms, ranging from reggae to bachata. This time around, beyond drawing from African heritage sounds, Rels B takes inspiration from Caribbean rhythms blending them seamlessly into his own style while staying true to their essence.
The lead single from afroLOVA 25’ is “Carita Angelikal” featuring Colombian artist Kapo, a breezy, summer-ready track that beautifully merges both artists’ styles and explores themes of love. Lyrics like:
“Me quedo con esa carita angelikal / Yo pongo el mundo a tus pies”
(“I’m holding on to that angelic little face / I’ll lay the world at your feet”)
…perfectly encapsulate the romantic, feel-good tone of the song.
Tracks like “vuelve contigo”, “LA PROPUESTA”, “Mis Días A Tu Suerte”, and the heartfelt closer “que todo siga igual,,, o que vaya mejor” show a more grounded and mature Rels B, someone at peace with love and committed relationships, no longer chasing a wild or reckless lifestyle. Having grown emotionally and artistically, he presents afroLOVA 25’ not as a conventional album, but rather as a curated collection designed to evoke a very specific state of mind similar to what Drake achieved with More Life.
In this spirit, afroLOVA 25’ embraces and embodies the essence of summer love. To bring this vision to life, Rels B collaborates with standout international acts like Los Sufridos, the Dominican collective led by Cromo X behind the hit “Duro de verdad” Kapo, and Thisizlondon, the producer of Rema’s global smash “Calm Down”.
The album’s production brings together top-tier talent from both the Spanish and global music scenes, including Omar Alcaide, Andrés Yuma, Yo X, Pere Navarro, Antonio Blakstad, LONDON, Cromo X, TYS, Draco Deville, and Mitiko Dazzler all of whom helped shape the full vision of afroLOVA 25’.
The release comes right in the middle of Rels B’s A NEW STAR WORLD TOUR, the most significant tour of his career, selling out iconic venues across both sides of the Atlantic. In just a few days, he’ll take the stage at Son Moix Stadium in Mallorca, marking a defining moment in his homecoming.
