MON LAFERTE Releases new single“ESTO ES AMOR” Ft. CONOCIENDO RUSIA
Singer-songwriter Mon Laferte unveils her new single “Esto Es Amor”, a collaboration with Argentine musician Conociendo Rusia (Mateo Sujatovich), one of the most prominent names of the new wave of Argentine songwriting. The track is built on a soulful foundation with elegant production, framed within the realm of alternative pop.
Recorded and produced by Mon Laferte and Manu Jalil, the sound draws inspiration from artists like Roberta Flack and Bill Withers, with a focus on the bodily language of groove and an aesthetic that favors analog textures.
The saxophone, used as a sonic element, stands out for its exotic tone and serves as a physical counterpoint to the sensuality of Laferte’s razor-sharp lyrics, which approach desire from an explicit and contemporary perspective:
“Baby, kissing your lips is religion. Between your legs, I will pray.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Chilean filmmaker Camila Grandi and produced by the Buena Noche collective, is set in a 1990s-style office. The visual aesthetic complements the sound of the track with clear references to cinema and pop culture, with a strong erotic charge.
