Lupita Infante Earns Latin GRAMMY® Nomination for “Seguimos o No?” in Best Regional Song
Lupita Infante, the two-time GRAMMY® nominee and granddaughter of Mexican music legend Pedro Infante, has been nominated for Best Regional Song at the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards. Making history as the only female artist in the category, Infante continues to honor her family’s iconic legacy while building her own path as one of the most promising voices in Regional Mexican music.
This marks her second career Latin GRAMMY® nomination, following her 2020 nod for “Dejaré” in the same category. With this recognition, Lupita cements her reputation as one of the most powerful and authentic female voices in música mexicana today.
The Story Behind “Seguimos o No?”
The nominated track was created during a collaborative songwriting session at Spotify’s Los Angeles offices, where Lupita worked alongside a powerhouse team of producers and artists shaping the future of Regional Mexican music. The session included Mauro Muñoz (known for his work with Reik, Carin León, and Kenia OS), Agua Tinta, and Fernandita Díaz.
Reflecting on the honor, Lupita shared:
“I am truly honored to be nominated for Best Regional Mexican Song! This track was born during a Spotify songwriting camp alongside three incredible collaborators: Fernanda Díaz, Agua Tinta, and our dear Mauro Muñoz. This nomination is living proof of the positive impact that songwriting camps, especially those that uplift women, can have on us as artists and on the industry as a whole. I am so proud of my colleagues and deeply grateful for the opportunity to create together. Today, we celebrate this triumph with joy, gratitude, and a hopeful outlook for the future of women in our beautiful Mexican music genre.” – Lupita Infante
Bridging Tradition and Modernity
Musically, “Seguimos o No?” reflects Lupita’s artistic vision: honoring the roots of mariachi while embracing contemporary sounds. Built on a traditional base, the track incorporates modern pop influences and innovative arrangements, creating a sound that feels both timeless and fresh. This balance mirrors Lupita’s journey as she carries forward the Infante legacy into a new era of Mexican music.
La Corona es Mía: A New Chapter
The Latin GRAMMY®-nominated single is part of Lupita’s latest studio album, La Corona es Mía, released in May 2025. The 10-track project further establishes her as a leading force in música mexicana, blending heartfelt storytelling with a sophisticated mix of traditional and contemporary elements.
