Colombian singer-songwriter and nine-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Fonseca has teamed up with Panamanian legend Rubén Blades to present the official video for their acclaimed collaboration “Nunca Me Fui” a song that has already become an anthem for millions across Latin America.

An ode to homeland, memory, and the migrant spirit“Nunca Me Fui” resonates deeply with those who live far from their countries yet carry their roots in their hearts. Now, with the release of its music video, the song’s emotional weight is amplified through groundbreaking visuals.

A Visual Tribute to Migration and Identity

Directed by Leonardo González Quevedo and produced by Nueve Voltios, the video blends Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital animation, urban stencil art, and mixed techniques to create a unique visual journey.

At five frames per second, every movement was meticulously designed frame by frame. Drawings of Fonseca and Blades appear across New York City walls and landscapes transforming them into living street art. The setting reflects New York’s role as a crossroads for migrant communities from around the world, underscoring the universal themes of belonging and resilience.

With AI production and direction by María José Marulanda and animation and post-production direction by Rubén Antorveza, the video becomes more than a visual companion it’s a homage to migration as an act of hope, and to cities as canvases where cultures and stories converge.
