In a landmark moment for Colombian music, Carlos Vives and the legendary Grupo Niche have joined forces to release a brand-new version of La Tierra del Olvido , the timeless anthem that reshaped modern vallenato and Caribbean sound. This reimagined track blends Vives’ signature style with the rich, rhythmic elegance of Pacific salsa, creating a vibrant celebration of Colombian identity and culture.

The collaboration headlines the commemorative album La Tierra del Olvido 30 Años (Remastered & Expanded), honoring three decades of one of the most iconic works in Latin American music history.

For the first time ever, Carlos Vives and Grupo Niche, both global ambassadors of Colombian music, unite on stage and in the studio. The new version premiered live during Santa Marta’s 500th anniversary serenade, where more than 100,000 fans witnessed the unforgettable performance against the breathtaking backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.

“La Tierra del Olvido allowed us to reconnect with our essence, and with Niche, we brought that message into another musical universe: salsa. It’s a celebration of who we are as Colombians, our diversity, and our cultural richness,” says Carlos Vives.

From Cali, under the masterful direction of José Aguirre, Grupo Niche infuses the track with authentic salsa flavor:

“This is a gift to the fans of both worlds. It’s an honor and a dream come true to merge our music with that of maestro Carlos Vives. Two worlds that end up being one,” shares Grupo Niche.

More than just a musical fusion, this collaboration is a symbol of unity between two genres that have taken Colombia’s sound to every corner of the globe Vives’ modernized vallenato and Niche’s classic salsa.

Recorded at GML Studios – La Torre de Lata, the session was filled with camaraderie and joy, captured on video for an official YouTube release. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes moments that showcase the chemistry between these two musical powerhouses.

The release is part of a larger celebration for the 30th anniversary of La Tierra del Olvido, which includes remastered editions, exclusive content, concerts, and special musical surprises. This project not only honors the past but also reaffirms the timeless power of Colombian music to inspire generations.
