On a night where urban music and emotion took center stage, Makaco El Cerebro captivated the hearts of Latin American audiences with his international debut at the 2025 HEAT Latin Music Awards, held for the first time in the vibrant city of Medellín, Colombia.

Joined by multi-award-winning artist Farruko and backed by the record label Carbon Armor, Makaco El Cerebro delivered a powerful performance of his single “Abatido”—a track filled with spiritual strength, resilience, and a meaningful message. His energy, authenticity, and emotional connection with the crowd marked a defining moment in his career, sealing his triumphant entry into the international music scene.

“The HEAT Awards aren’t just a stage—they’re a platform that blesses careers. For me, being here is a dream fulfilled and a promise kept. I come from humble beginnings, and now I stand here among the greats, thanks to God, to Farruko, and to those who believed in me,” said a visibly moved Makaco El Cerebro after his performance.

Born in Hato del Yaque, Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, Makaco has come a long way from freestyling his first verses at age 13 to stepping onto one of Latin music’s most iconic stages. Within just weeks of its release, “Abatido,” his collaboration with Farruko, has already surpassed 5 million streams, becoming an anthem of faith for a new generation.

Farruko, both mentor and supporter of the rising artist, introduced Makaco to the world with strong words:

“Makaco El Cerebro has something you can’t manufacture—truth. He’s a real one. Talented, hungry, but most importantly, driven by purpose. The moment I heard him, I knew it was time to raise a new flag. Supporting Makaco means supporting music with a message.”

On the vibrant green carpet of the awards—paying tribute to Medellín’s floral traditions—Makaco El Cerebro walked alongside Farruko, producers Ghetto and Keriel Quiroz (K4G), and special guest Louis BPM, reinforcing Carbon Armor’s rise as one of the most influential new musical movements in Latin America.

His latest single, “Tranquilo,” a dynamic fusion of merengue/mambo with urban flair, is also gaining traction on digital platforms, confirming his versatile and refreshing musical style.

With his official international debut in Medellín, the support of a high-caliber artistic team, and a promotional tour across Latin America, Europe, and the United States in the works, Makaco El Cerebro embarks on a new era as a global ambassador of purpose-driven urban merengue/mambo.

“I’m here to represent my people. This opportunity isn’t just for me—it’s for every young dreamer who still believes that with faith, discipline, and hard work, anything is possible,” Makaco concluded, with the conviction of someone ready to make history.
