Acclaimed Colombian songwriter and producer Keityn, born Kevyn Cruz Moreno, is facing one of the most difficult chapters of his personal life. Despite the success he’s achieved on global stages, behind the scenes he was fighting a quiet battle: an extortion attempt that put not only his safety at risk, but that of his entire family.
The situation, addressed swiftly by Colombian authorities, led to two operations in Palmira, Valle del Cauca, resulting in the arrest and prosecution of the alleged perpetrators. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine whether these individuals are part of a larger criminal structure.
Rather than give in to fear, Keityn has responded with the resilience of someone who has built his name through honest work and unwavering determination. According to those close to him, the artist has had the full support of the National Prosecutor’s Office, GAULA Palmira, the Palmira City Council, and his legal team, led by Abdul Rahim Abogados & Asociados.
“This is a reality many families endure in silence. We’re not immune just because we have a public career. What matters is to act transparently, trust in justice, and protect those we love,” Keityn shared with close friends, choosing to keep a low profile in the media for now.
As the investigation progresses, Keityn continues working from Miami on new musical projects, while strengthening his commitment to truth, legality, and the safety of those around him.
This incident doesn’t define his story—it fortifies it. And amid the noise, Keitynstands firm: with music as his shield, family as his root, and truth as his only path forward.
