Elvis Crespo, the tropical music icon and GRAMMY® winner, is kicking off his groundbreaking new concert series, Bodega Tour 2025: El Barrio Canta. The innovative tour begins today at Raysa Market in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where neighbors will experience the very first performance at 5:30 p.m.

Unlike traditional tours, El Barrio Canta will bring free surprise concerts to real bodegas and corner stores in Latino communities across the United States, turning these everyday cultural spaces into vibrant live stages.

From August through September 2025, leading into Hispanic Heritage Month, Crespo will pop up at bodegas in cities like New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Each stop will be announced only days in advance through Elvis Crespo’s official social media channels and select media outlets, keeping fans on their toes for the next big moment.

But Bodega Tour is more than just concerts, it’s a cultural statement. For decades, bodegas and colmados have been more than just neighborhood stores; they are immigrant entrepreneurship hubs, meeting points, and cultural landmarks. From the Bronx to Little Havana, these spaces have carried flavors, traditions, and sounds of home — with merengue, salsa, and bachata playing in the background long before “global music” became a trend.

How the Idea Was Born

The roots of El Barrio Canta trace back to 2025, when Crespo filmed three of his latest music videos in real Dominican colmados:

  • “Luna Llena” with Ebenezer Guerra
  • “Me Mataron” with El Blachy
  • “Borrón y Cuenta Nueva” with Toño Rosario, La Insuperable, and Ebenezer Guerra

The videos captured the authenticity and vibrancy of these community spaces, resonating deeply with fans. The overwhelming response proved that, even in the digital age, there’s a powerful connection to places where culture is lived face-to-face.

With Bodega Tour 2025: El Barrio Canta, Crespo transforms the corner store into a stage, the everyday shopper into the audience, and the neighborhood into the star. Each performance will highlight not just the music but the soul of the community, blending tradition with celebration.

“El Barrio Canta” is more than a concert series; it’s a love letter to Latino neighborhoods, honoring their resilience, identity, and cultural impact through the universal language of tropical music.
