Jordano Luciano De la Cruz, known artistically as Makaco el Cerebro, was born on September 29, 1993, in Hato del Yaque, Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. He began his musical journey at age 13 with his youth group “Los Cronistas de la Esquina.” At 23, he emigrated to the United States, where he currently resides and formed a band with childhood friends, including his inseparable producer Richard de la Oz.
Makaco is the songwriter behind impactful tracks such as “Ven Toma”, “No Creo en Pana”, and “Los Códigos.” His career has been a steady rise, built on talent, hard work, and a clear mission: to inspire youth through music.
“I come from humble beginnings, without sponsors, but with strong faith. If I made it, others can too. This is just the beginning,” stated the artist.
Backed by Carbon Fiber Music and driven by a creative vision that blends quality, message, and rhythm, Makaco el Cerebro is emerging as one of the new faces of internationally projected urban merengue.
