Luis Figueroa continues his unstoppable rise as the leading voice of salsa’s new generation, scoring his 11th Top 10 hit on the Billboard® Tropical Airplay chart with “Más que un Beso,” the standout single from his latest album, GRIS. With this milestone, Figueroa solidifies his position at the forefront of the genre’s global renaissance.
This past weekend, the artist kicked off the highly anticipated Summer Fest Concert Series, presented by KQ 105, with a powerful performance at the T-Mobile District in San Juan, Puerto Rico—celebrating the release of his latest album, GRIS. In front of a packed crowd, Figueroa delivered a high-energy set featuring standout tracks from GRIS, including “Más que un Beso” and “Cómo se Compara,” along with fan favorites that kept the audience on their feet.
GRIS, a six-track project, marks a bold and dynamic chapter in Figueroa’s career. A must-have for salsa aficionados, the album pushes the boundaries of tropical music with fearless creativity and emotional depth. As the genre experiences a renewed wave of popularity, Figueroa stands at its helm—reshaping its future with authenticity, innovation, and heart.
The success of GRIS follows Figueroa’s critically acclaimed, 2x Latin GRAMMY®-nominated album COEXISTENCIA. With eleven Billboard Tropical Airplay Top 10 hits to his name, including 2024’s chart-topper “Medusa,” and his first RIAA Gold Certification for “Vienes,” Figueroa proves he’s more than a hitmaker—he’s a visionary propelling salsa into a thriving new era.
His impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2024, he was honored by the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame with the Premio Triunfador, and earned four nominations at the 2025 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards. He is also nominated for Tropical Artist of the Year at the upcoming 2025 Premios Tu Música Urbano.
Next up, Figueroa will be recognized at the Gracie Mansion Puerto Rican Heritage Reception by the mayor of New York City on Thursday, June 5, where he will perform the Puerto Rican national anthem. On Friday, June 6, he’ll take the stage for his first solo headline show at Infinity Music Hall in Hartford, CT.
With every performance, release, and accolade, Luis Figueroa doesn’t just redefine salsa—he dominates it, securing his place as the genre’s most influential and unstoppable force.
