Gusi
Colombian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer Gusi is destined to be one of the key figures in a new sound emerging from the vallenato genre, influenced by the Guajira heritage of his father and transcending beyond, thanks to the rich tropical scene of his country. He studied music in Bogotá, where he received additional musical influences, starting with his mother, who taught him the first guitar chords—the instrument that has accompanied him since his musical beginnings. His career, spanning over a decade, began with the successful duo Gusi & Beto (2006-2013).
With five Latin GRAMMY® nominations, Gusi has been recognized for his albums 24/7, Al Son de Mi Corazón, La Mandarina, and Monte Adentro. As a composer, he has also contributed to works nominated for the Latin GRAMMY® by prominent artists such as Diego Torres (“Puedo Ser Yo”), Andrés Cepeda (“Duele”), Luis Enrique (“Al Fin”), Fonseca (“Baila Esta Última”), and Claudia Brant (“Piensa un Poco en Mí”).
He is known for hits like “Locos Dementes,” “Indira II,” “Tú Tienes Razón,” “Duele,” “Te Robaré,” “Ganas,” “Rompecabezas,” “24/7,” “Me Voy Contigo,” “Te Quiero Tanto,” “Quiero Contigo,” “Como Me Duele,” “La Mandarina,” “Dime,” “Tengo Tu Amor,” among others. He has collaborated musically with artists such as Carlos Vives, Nacho, Silvestre Dangond, Andrés Cepeda, Franco De Vita, Mike Bahía, Greeicy, Luis Enrique, and Gian Marco. His previous album Monte Adentro was a resounding success, and his new record, Vallenato Social Club, is an innovative proposal that reaffirms Gusi’s ability to reinvent himself without losing the essence of his roots. With Vallenato Social Club, the artist not only celebrates the tradition of vallenato but also opens space for experimentation and collaborations that expand the genre’s boundaries, offering a rich and unique musical experience.
