2x Latin GRAMMY®-nominated Dominican rap sensation J Noa kicks off a new era with the release of Los 5Golpe, her second EP, out today via Sony Music CAC. “Los 5Golpe marks a turning point in my career. It’s my most ‘criollo’ project to date. I’m proud to share it with artists like Vakeró, Braulio, and Nino, who I connected with before big moments in my career, like the Tiny Desk and Grammy nominations. Going back to my roots and collaborating with the people who paved the way I now walk is a huge honor,” shares J Noa about this new chapter.

The title Los 5Golpe refers to the EP’s five songs and plays on the idea of “los tres golpes,” the iconic Dominican dish, adding two more key ingredients: effort and art. It’s a musical plate full of street bars, seasoned with the unmistakable rhythm of the Caribbean.

Produced by BooBass King, DJ Sammy, Light GM, and Kookie, the project is narrated from a typical Dominican colmado, becoming a conceptual piece that blends music, visuals, and social reality. Each track is paired with a short film shot in the San Carlos neighborhood of the Dominican Republic, directed by LennynSalinas. Across these five chapters, the story of a young Dominican woman unfolds as she dreams, fights, loves, becomes heartbroken, and celebrates her identity.

Chapter 1: La Clásica

The story opens with J Noa getting ready for an important day. She walks confidently through her neighborhood until she reaches Colmado 5 Golpe. With a photo of her mother hanging from her keys, she unlocks the door to the colmado, the heart of this project, and invites us in to witness the stories that will unfold there

Chapter 2: Sudor y Tinta – J Noa x Vakeró

The story continues with J Noa running Colmado 5 Golpe. Throughout the visual, we see her and Vakeró working with determination as they deliver their verses. The video reflects the daily grind and perseverance of the Dominican people. It’s a tribute to honest work and the ongoing fight for a dignified life.

Chapter 3: 4 y 15 – J Noa x Nino Freestyle

The narrative takes an unexpected turn with an attempted robbery that transforms into an unlikely love story. Nino Freestyle points a gun at J Noa but hesitates when he sees her. The gun turns into a plantain, then into flowers. J Noa frees herself, confronts him, and he walks away without harming her.

Chapter 4: Se Quemó – J Noa x Braulio Fogón

The tension is felt from the very beginning. J Noa, visibly nervous, sings from the colmado’s backyard as she waits for justice. The video ends with Braulio Fogón arriving on the scene with two police officers, and together they reveal who the song is directed at: the thief from the previous episode, now in handcuffs.

Chapter 5: Ratacutupla – J Noa x Químico Ultra Mega

In the final chapter, an older neighbor complains about the noise coming from a party at the colmado. Instead of turning her away, J Noa invites her to join. Soon, she’s dancing with the rest of the community. What follows is a celebration of hip hop in its purest form: music, joy, and unity. It’s a vibrant ending that honors Dominican street culture with rhythm, flow, and collective happiness.

Earlier this year, J Noa shared the stage with iconic Venezuelan rapper Lil Supa’ in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The show brought together two heavyweights of the Latin rap scene. She was recognized by People en Español as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women of 2025 and highlighted by The New York Times in both its Rising Artists list and its 10 Artists to Watch selection. These recognitions continue to establish her as one of the most promising voices in Latin rap. Up next, J Noa will perform at major events like SoloFest in the Dominican Republic on June 7 and Ruidosa Fest in New York on August 9. More news on J Noa is coming soon!

Track by Track of  Los 5Golpe by J Noa

1. La Clásica (Hope)

“This song has the vibe of early 2000s hip hop. It talks about how good I feel both physically and mentally. I’m in a great place in every way so I wanted to start the EP with something positive that reflects the energy of feeling good and having hope.”

2. Sudor y Tinta – J Noa x Vakeró (Effort)

“This song carries a powerful message. It talks about how people from humble neighborhoods must work hard every day to survive. In the music industry, we also face many challenges to reach our goals, and sometimes the people closest to you can betray you. Vakeró tells his story of how he made it in the Dominican Republic. I wrote this song a year ago, and from the moment I came up with the chorus, I knew he had to be on it. It was a perfect match.”

3. 4 y 15 – J Noa x Nino Freestyle (Love)

“For me, this song tells a story. Nino is known for storytelling in his music. In this one, he plays someone who tries to rob me, but when he sees me, a beautiful brown skin girl, he falls in love and forgets about the robbery. Then he tries to convince me to fall in love with him. It’s a fun and creative way to talk about unexpected love.”

4. Se Quemó – J Noa x Braulio Fogón (Rage)

“This one is about betrayal, basically saying we don’t forgive, that’s something only God does. On the streets there are rules, and they need to be respected. You can’t sing and pray at the same time, trying to break even. When Braulio arrived at the studio, I already had most of my part ready. He liked it, and while he was recording his verse, I suggested we do a shared chorus so we could both shine. I don’t like to take over in collaborations. We gave it our all and the result was amazing.”

5. Ratacutupla – J Noa x Químico Ultra Mega (Joy)

“This song is a tribute to Hip-Hop and real rap. We’re not making ballads, we’re straight-up rapping. The chemistry with Químico was incredible. We’ve known each other since I was about 15 or 16, and had worked together before, so collaborating was super easy. He came to the studio and dropped his verse right there without even writing it down. It all happened very naturally.”
