Afro-Latina singer, songwriter, and activist Goyoreleases her latest single, “QSV” (Que Se Vaya), a powerful statement of personal liberation and empowerment. The track is part of Pantera, her debut solo album, set to be released in the coming months.
With this new song, the Colombian artist continues to amplify her voice in support of the Afro-descendant community and women, solidifying her musical identity through a unique fusion of traditional sounds and contemporary rhythms. Meanwhile, her lyrics embrace the strength that defines her and resonate with audiences who connect with her message.
“QSV” captures the moment of true emancipation after a breakup—when the other person returns after healing and moving forward, but this time, the answer is clear and firm: Que Se Vaya.
With an Afrobeat foundation inspired by the work of the legendary Nigerian artist Fela Kuti, considered the father of Afrobeat, the song intertwines the signature sounds of Chocó, Goyo’s ancestral Pacific Colombian region, with the vibrant essence of chirimía and the ancestral rhythms of the African diaspora.
“Music is a vehicle for resistance and healing. With ‘QSV,’ I want to convey the strength of those who choose themselves, those who decide not to look back and move forward with conviction,” says Goyo, reaffirming her commitment to visibility and representation of the Afro-Latina culture.
A two-time Latin GRAMMY® winner with 11 nominations as the leader of ChocQuibTown, Goyo is one of the most influential voices in Latin music and one of its strongest representatives in originality, authenticity, and self-expression.
Throughout her career, she has been a key voice in representing the Afro-Latina community, spreading her message of pride and resistance on a global scale. Her artistic vision blends traditional Pacific Colombian sounds with contemporary genres, creating a unique and powerful musical identity.
