With tropical music leading Latin music trends and expanding its reach to new generations, Elvis Crespo embraced the Dominican Republic in a very special way. Just a few months after his classic hit “Luna Llena” went viral on social media, the song once again topping the radio charts in the Dominican Republic, Elvis Crespo decided to film the music video on the Caribbean island. He landed at El Cibao, where he could connect with the typical merengue sounds that are rooted in the region. He then traveled to Higüey, located in the Altagracia province, where he filmed “Luna Llena” alongside Ebenezer Guerra. Taking over a local grocery store in the emblematic Dominican province, what began as a simple video shoot quickly turned into a spontaneous party: Elvis Crespo and Ebenezer Guerra spewed a contagious rhythm that Dominican locals became happy to join. The video premiered on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EST on Elvis Crespo’s YouTube channel.
With the renewed version of “Luna Llena”, the iconic Crespo unites with one of Dominican Republic’s most popular rising voices, Ebenezer Guerra. This collaboration represents a generational and cultural bridge, in which both artists champion the evolution of the genre without losing its essence. More than a song, “Luna Llena” is a celebration of Caribbean identity, uniting Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic at its best, and demonstrating the power of tropical music which is bringing generations together and crossing borders.
“I wanted to combine Puerto Rico’s typical sound with Ebenezer Guerra, because the Dominican-inspired new generation Tropical sound is creating a forceful trend. The locally rooted Merengue is growing and becoming very popular among younger generations. It’s still merengue, but with a more Cibao, Dominican sound to it. These local artists have given Merengue a new flavor, and I felt it was the right time to bring them front and center on a collaboration,”expressed Elvis Crespo.
Prior to this release, Elvis Crespo teamed up with Jerry Rivera to release a revamped version of the classic “Nuestra Canción”, marking the tropical hitmaker’s return to the Billboard Top 10 after more than five years. The song debuted at No. 10 on the Tropical Airplay chart.
Elvis Crespo will return to the Coliseo de Puerto Rico on June 21, 2025 for the first time in almost a decade as a solo act. Presented by Molusco TV in association with Duars Live and NuLife Entertainment, the show promises to make history in El Choli and officially kick off his U.S. “Poeta Herío 2025”.
