Venezuelan singer-songwriter Marcelo Rubio embarks on a new phase in his musical career, one where vulnerability takes center stage. From this new chapter comes “Si no la vuelvo a ver,” Rubio’s latest single, available June 13 across all digital platforms.
The track, written by Marcelo and produced by 3x Latin GRAMMY®-nominated and Premios de la Música de España winner Ale Acosta, features Juan Antonio García “AKA XAS” in the arrangement, showcasing the artist in a reflective atmosphere, where memories take ownership of verses that tell the story of emotional liberation.
“Si no la vuelvo a ver” is a subtle contemporary pop ballad, where guitar, synthesizers, and subtle percussion gently embrace Marcelo’s performance as he delivers a story of heartbreak and vulnerability, with wounds left open and questions that will remain unanswered.
The single arrives accompanied by a nostalgia-laden music video, directed by Landro WRLD & Pipes and filmed in Miami. The clip portrays a man in a bar, surrounded by people, yet he finds himself alone, lost in Marcelo’s music, which he listens to through a Walkman. This music helps him navigate romantic heartbreak and immerse himself in memories of a relationship that didn’t work out.
Throughout the music video, we dive into those parallel realities, moments that will never happen after the relationship ends and the lump in the throat that this leaves behind. Additionally, in the music video, Venezuelan singer ROBI, with whom Marcelo has previously collaborated, makes a special appearance in the group of friends who accompany Marcelo in the chorus. The track marks a new chapter in Marcelo’s musical journey, where truth and vulnerability serve as his guiding principles, enabling him to connect powerfully with a growing community of followers across Latin America, the United States, and Spain.
“Si no la vuelvo a ver” is the second track he has released this year. In February, he unveiled “2 versos,” a heartfelt confession of romantic devotion through everyday moments. Marcelo Rubio is part of a new generation of young Latin singer-songwriters who have adopted truth, vulnerability, and romantic pop as their musical banner, through lyrics that focus on the art of storytelling and resonate with audiences hungry for authenticity.
The emerging star made his stage debut earlier this year in Miami with a performance at ZeyZey, and in April, he headed to Spain, where he achieved his first sold-out show at Sala Vesta in Madrid.
In September 2024, he released his debut studio album, Lo que escribí mientras no estabas , an autobiographical, narrative, and musical journey through 12 tracks that traverse three emotional stages the singer-songwriter experienced during a romantic breakup: nostalgia, anger, and the peace of a new beginning.
